Our hand-cranked penny press souvenir machines are in high demand. Why?
Because they produce a lot of revenue for the following very good reasons:
- Our hand-cranked machine is attractive and interactive. The
customer presses the penny themselves. And that interactive feature generates
more use and therefore more revenue. In fact a well-placed interactive
Press-A-Penny penny press will earn more on a “per square foot” basis
than almost any other coin-op vending machine.
- Our pressed penny or elongated penny souvenirs are highly collectable.
Hundreds of thousands of people collect them. Just look at our
links page to see collector sites.
- Souvenir pressed coins are inexpensive souvenirs yet
lifetime mementos. At some gift shops they tell us that our pressed pennies
are the one thing whose cost is always a positive factor.

What is a penny press anyway?
A penny press is a coin-operated machine that rolls a coin (in
our case a genuine penny) through a hand-cranked mill consisting
of two specially hardened rollers. One roller has reverse-engraved
images cut into it. As the round penny is cranked down between the
rollers it is squeezed or “squashed” under tremendous
pressure into the image selected and emerges in the unique elongated
shape of all pressed pennies and proudly now displaying that souvenir
image you selected. |
